Located on the outskirts of Knowsley, the development sits within a 4.2-acre site which was originally a farmstead c.1800 and the former Wheathill Riding Centre. The school’s visual character is based on the agricultural heritage of the site, combining weathered brick, timber panelling, and render facades along with metal sheeting to provide a rural feel.

The development comprised the demolition of the existing derelict outbuildings to erect a new SEN (Special Educational Needs) school adjacent to an existing Primary School with a new welcome area, vehicle & cycle parking, landscaping, and a multi-use games area. A glazed link was created to provide direct access between the two schools, allowing the larger staff cohort to circulate more comfortably throughout the year.

The school includes twelve classrooms alongside therapy rooms and sensory and neurodiverse spaces specifically designed for SEN pupils, allowing children to progress beyond primary education in a familiar setting.
