A restrained countryside home shaped by landscape, proportion and visual permeability.

C4 Projects secured planning approval for a replacement dwelling within a highly sensitive Peak District setting following a complex statutory process. The proposal is arranged as three distinct volumes, referencing traditional agricultural outbuildings through long, narrow proportions and dual-pitched roofs.
This strategy establishes a calm and contextual form of development, reinforcing a hierarchy of built elements rather than a single dominant structure.

Two structural glass transition pods connect the volumes, allowing each to be read independently while maintaining visual openness across the site.
Each building adopts its own material language and proportions, creating subtle variation within a unified composition. The result is a simple and carefully resolved dwelling that balances contemporary living with a measured response to landscape character, ensuring the new home sits comfortably within its rural surroundings.
